When we sew we are always on the Grow

The Craft House started from a dream of dreams, I was attending a 120 hour course called Catch Your Dreams, held at the Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre, and in partenership with Georgian College.  I was working on a business plan called, The Bed & Breakfast Catch Your Dreams, in this business plan one has to provide growth of their business at a 3 and 5 year span. My idea for this business was that the business's first growth in 3 years would be a little store off to the side called *The Craft House*. When I had realized how much work it is to put a plan on paper, I began to think that I needed to concentrate on something a little smaller. With only one week left of the program and long hours of hard work, I was able to complete a business plan called *The Craft House*

When I attended my first Aboriginal Entrepreneur Expo in April 2004. I did set up a booth at this expo and all that I displayed was what I wanted to be doing with this small business. At this expo I heard  these words of "your hobby is your business" as making native crafts has been my hobby for such a long time of my life, and I enjoyed making crafts. I began to listening to Donna Messer a world wide known person whom assists in the connection of people connecting people. At that time, I did not know of how much her words would influence, my life and my business I listened carefully to what she had to say. Her words seemed to stick with me and with great stride and ambition I began to make crafts. Donna introduced me to a women whom has made a great difference in my life  Anne Marie Hendry whom owns and operates "Yare Crusing" it is with her great support that my business has flourished within me. It is with great support from Anne Marie Sandford that my stepping stones towards to becoming well known in my community for my business has brought me to come so far, and it is with great support from Donna Messer that gives me hope and drive to keep going. Thank you all so very much. You play an important role in my life.

I have been very busy since I finished a business course March 2004, but when I heard that I was receiving an award for my accomplishments, this has only boosted my drive to be successful women entrepreneur!!

The reward that I received is called

ABORIGINAL ENTREPRENEUR AWARD

and was in recognition of my outstanding accomplishments and my contribution in the Aboriginal Entrepreneur Expo 04", presented to me by the Simcoe County Aboriginal Employment Coalition.
